Citizen Potawatomi Nation Police Chief James Collard has confirmed one person is dead in a double shooting this morning at the FireLake Grand Casino.

The incident, which occurred about 7 a.m., was between two employees and occurred in the administrative offices area of the casino. Collard said at no time during the incident were any other employees or patrons at risk.

He said one person was dead at the scene and another person was transported by helicopter ambulance to Oklahoma City. Collard, during a press conference held a few minutes ago, said he didn't know that person's updated medical condition. No names are being released pending notification of relatives.

Collard, who said the FBI has been contacted about the deadly incident, said they've been assisted by McLoud and Absentee Shawnee Tribal police, along with the Oklahoma Highway Patrol, District Attorney's office and the Pottawatomie County Sheriff's Office.

While there are many questions about what did happen involving the two employees, Collard said he couldn't release much else to protect the integrity of the investigation, which is ongoing.

Collard said they will release periodic updates.
