Anna Lorene Ford, a longtime Agra resident, passed away on Sunday, Jan. 8, 2017, at Belfair Assisted Living in Shawnee with her family by her side at the age of 105.

Anna Lorene Ford, a longtime Agra resident, passed away on Sunday, Jan. 8, 2017, at Belfair Assisted Living in Shawnee with her family by her side at the age of 105.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the First Baptist Church in Agra. Rev. Roger Shaw will officiate. Interment will follow at Glenwood Cemetery in Perkins, Oklahoma.

Arrangements are entrusted to Palmer Marler Funeral Home, Cushing, Oklahoma.

Lorene was born on July 28, 1911, in Quinlan, Texas, to the late Robert Franklin and Ila (Williams) Medley. When Lorene was a small child, her family moved to Oklahoma in a covered wagon. Her family moved wherever the work was, and they finally settled near Agra. She grew up near Agra attending Fairview school and later Agra High School.

Lorene married the love of her life W.H. “Bill” Ford on Aug. 20, 1930, in Stillwater and were married 66 years.

In her lifetime, Lorene has seen many changes including the Dust Bowl, wars, inventions, and numerous presidents. Her children were her life, Lorene did not work outside the home, except for the short time she worked in the school cafeteria. She enjoyed her visits at the Senior Citizens in Agra. Lorene like being outdoors where she gardened, fished, traveled and loved Revivals. She enjoyed crocheting, sewing, playing dominoes and games. Lorene also enjoyed country and western music and blue grass music. Lorene loved spending time with her family.

Lorene is survived by her son Robert Ford and wife Gerldean of Stroud, daughters Willa Jean McEntire and husband Dempsey of Agra, Mardell Lawhead of Woodlands, Texas, Jeanene Lange and husband Truman of Oklahoma City, grandchildren Clifford McEntire and wife Deann, Terry Sparling and husband Don, Raymond McEntire and wife Debbie, Roberta Arens and husband Joe, William Ford, Jeffrey Silcox, Brad Lange and wife Michele, Brian Lange and wife Lindsay, step-grandchildren C.W. Melton and wife Faye, Terry Melton, Gene Melton, and Juanita Hendricks and husband Brian,13 great-grandchildren, six step-great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren and three step-great-great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband W.H. “Bill” Ford, daughter Eloise Silcox, sisters Valree Turner and Evalene Goodnight, brothers Ira Medley, Jack Medley, Floyd Medley and Silas Medley.
