Vincent Andrew Kwitowski, 79, of Shawnee, went to his heavenly reward Jan. 4, 2017.

He was born March 24, 1937, in Plymouth, Pennsylvania, to Andrew and Elizabeth Kwitowski.

Vincent was a loving husband, father and grandfather. He held strong to his beliefs and was an honest man. Vincent enjoyed everything outdoors; such as fly fishing, hunting, and gardening.

After high school, he enlisted in the marines in 1954, then the Army in 1955, and after that the Airforce in 1957, from which he retired in 1977 as a Tech Sgt. Vincent served three tours in Vietnam and was responsible for the aircraft avionics. He was employed in communications until he retired in 1990. In his retirement, he enjoyed photography, computers and attending the VA stroke group.

He was preceded in death by his parents; siblings: Betty Scheloski and Margie Ravert; and the aunt who raised him, Frances Phillips.

He is survived by his wife, Janie Kwitowski; children: Mark Kwitowski (Suzi), Mary “Tilly” Cox (Scott), Kim Kwitowski, Franny Deason (Dave), and Jenni Wilmot (Casey); grandchildren: Kade, Mikayla, Niki, Michael, Jaedyn, Jordan, Chazlie, Meagan, Tammy, Thomas and Vincent; seven great-granddaughters; two great-grandsons; and many friends.

A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m., Saturday, Jan. 14, at Sunny Lane Funeral Home with Pastor Ben Glover officiating.
