Seminole State College nursing students recently traveled to St. Anthony Hospital in Shawnee to receive training in EPIC – a computerized patient healthcare record that is widely used in hospitals and clinics throughout the state of Oklahoma.

“It is important that our students receive training in nursing informatics. We are so grateful to St. Anthony Shawnee Hospital for providing our students with this opportunity. Most of the hospitals in our area are now using an electronic health record system and our students need to know how these systems work in order to provide quality care to patients,” said Crystal Bray, SSC Assistant Professor of Nursing.

The students spent the day learning how to navigate electronic health records, document nursing tasks and locate important patient information quickly.
