This week’s greeting seems to have frozen in time and outer-space, as the cold winter breeze invades the home of every living creature, but this is a prayer for joy, laughter and good health to fill you and your home through-out 2017!

This week’s greeting seems to have frozen in time and outer-space, as the cold winter breeze invades the home of every living creature, but this is a prayer for joy, laughter and good health to fill you and your home through-out 2017!

Perhaps God sent this chill of winter to freeze out the marching, demonstrating and protesting all over America for the past week. You know, God always works in mysterious ways; right? He may have sent some of this cold weather, which may slow down some of our activities, just to give us time to think about our future.

Have you thought about what is on your agenda and in your thoughts and dreams for 2017, now that the glamour of our new president’s inauguration and installation of new officials are in the past?

The future of a new year is looming before us. The future belongs to those who believe in the beauty of their dreams. Do you have any dreams on the horizon or have you stacked them in the back crevices of your brain?

We never get too old to dream. In fact, a personal dream, was to finish college in my twenties. Well, several babies, medical problems, and illness entering into my parents lives entered this dream. During those years, there were a few opportunities to take several courses, which kept my dream alive.

Then, the next chapter, middle age, had risen with full force and health problems entered the home, such as several suffering severe strokes, major illnesses. Therefore, college classes went by the wayside, except for maybe two courses a semester. But, the dream of a college diploma never died.

The next years of life, several loved ones, including 2 spouses were called to Heaven. But, the dream of receiving a college diploma had erupted full bloom! Finally, at age sixty-five, the thrill of walking across the stage had arrived! Getting that handshake and diploma and the fifty year-old dream was a reality!

So, to those that have dreams, don’t ever give up! Hold on! Write notes, keep a journal, calling it your “Dream Book!” Remember, you have to have the dream kept in the recesses of your brain. Take courses along the way, which will enhance your life in numerous ways, but mainly to keep your brain alert and thinking for the future!

When in the sixties, a new husband and large motor-home entered the picture, with travel routes all across the nation, gave time to write a book about the life of my dear friend, Wilma Lee Scarberry, who became the mother of Carlos Ray Norris, the famous “Chuck Norris.” It was finished and published at the great age of seventy!

So, always keep God in the center of your dream and thoughts.

His presence will energize you, moment by moment, especially when problems arise in the home, and dollars run out before the next pay-day! Always turn to God, tell Him your problems; when you do that, you won’t be discouraged! Look to the sunny side of life, with the Son of God leading and guiding you through out your life!

Psalm 96:6-7 – “Splendor and majesty are before him; strength and glory are in his sanctuary. Ascribe to the Lord, O families of nations, ascribe to the Lord glory and strength.”
