The three-day candidate filing period for municipal candidates in six Pottawatomie County towns concludes at 5 p.m. today and several races have already developed for the April 4 elections.

Those wishing to file for seats on boards for the Town of Asher, Bethel Acres, Pink, Wanette, City of Maud and City of McLoud must do so today. Jeannie Stover, Secretary of the County Election Board, said the filing period ends at 5 p.m. today.

Declarations of Candidacy are being accepted at the County Election Board office, 14101 Acme Road, for the indicated offices; candidate filings for the first two days also are listed below:

• Town of Asher, one four-year term and one-two year term: Wesley Culwell Jr. 62, Kenny Taylor, 61, and Robby Mosley, 58, all filed Monday.

• Town of Bethel Acres, Office No. 1: Jake Clanin, 32, filed Monday.

• Town of Bethel Acres, Office No. 4: Mark Gober, 35, filed Monday.

• Town of Bethel Acres Office No. 2 and 3: No filings.

• City of Maud, Ward 1: Kurtis Dustman, 44, filed Monday.

• City of Maud, Ward 2: Decarla Wallgren, 60, filed Tuesday.

• City of Maud, Ward 4: No filings yet.

• City of McLoud, Ward 3: James Woods, 74, filed Monday and Tim McGuinness, 45, filed Tuesday.

• City of McLoud, Ward 4: Tom Morris, 73, and Steven M. Tomaszewski, 61, filed Monday.

• City of McLoud, Councilmember at-large: Larry R. Dillon, 69, and Philip L. Solinger, 61, both filed Monday.

The municipal offices at stake in Town of Asher, Bethel Acres, Pink, Wanette, City of Maud and City of McLoud will be filled in the nonpartisan General Election scheduled April 4, 2017.
