Races are already developing as candidates for municipal office in six Pottawatomie County municipalities are filing Declarations of Candidacy during a three-day candidate filing period that ends Wednesday.

Jeannie Stover, Secretary of the County Election Board, said the filing period ends at 5 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 8. Declarations of Candidacy are being accepted at the County Election Board office for the indicated offices. Candidate filings as of 5 p.m. Monday are:

• Town of Asher, one four-year term and one-two year term: Wesley Culwell Jr. 62, Kenny Taylor, 61, and Robby Mosley, 58, filed Monday.

• Town of Bethel Acres, Office No. 1: Jake Clanin, 32, filed Monday.

• Town of Bethel Acres, Office No. 4: Mark Gober, 35, filed Monday.

• Town of Bethel Acres Office No. 2 and 3: No filings Monday.

• City of Maud, Ward 1: Kurtis Dustman, 44, filed Monday.

• City of Maud, Ward 2 and 4: No filings yet.

• City of McLoud, Ward 3: James Woods, 74, filed Monday.

• City of McLoud, Ward 4: Tom Morris, 73, and Steven M. Tomaszewski, 61, filed Monday.

• City of McLoud, Councilmember at-large: Larry R. Dillon, 69, and Philip L. Solinger, 61, both filed Monday.

• Town of Pink, Ward 2: No filings.

• Town of Pink, Ward 4: Mike Green, 65, filed Monday.

• Town of Wanette Board of Trustees: Sandra Roberts, 66, and Ernest Roy Vanschuyver, 72, filed Monday.

The municipal offices at stake in Town of Asher, Bethel Acres, Pink, Wanette, City of Maud and City of McLoud will be filled in the nonpartisan General Election scheduled April 4, 2017.
