Johnnie Aileen Henderson Rundle, 93, of Shawnee, lovingly known at “Nanny and Gigi” to her family and “Jackie” to her friends, passed from this life Saturday, Feb. 4, 2017, at her home.

Johnnie Aileen Henderson Rundle, 93, of Shawnee, lovingly known as “Nanny and Gigi” to her family and “Jackie” to her friends, passed from this life Saturday, Feb. 4, 2017, at her home.

She was born Dec. 22, 1923, to Foster and Ada Evelyn (Beaittie) Harness in Oilton, Oklahoma, one of 13 children, which included two sets of twins and one set of triplets.

Nanny graduated from Shawnee High School in 1941.

She married John Thixton “Jake” Henderson on Feb. 16, 1944, in Shawnee, and to this union one daughter, Thixe Kay Henderson, was born. Jake preceded her in death on Sept. 13, 1979. She married Donald L. Rundle on Sept. 4, 1990, in Seminole, and he preceded her in death on Oct. 19, 2001.

Nanny worked for Sears in sales until 1965. She later attended Charles School of Hair Design and became a licensed cosmetologist. Nanny owned and operated Jackie’s Hair Fashion Studio in Shawnee until 1980. She later worked as a certified medication aid from 1981 to 1988.

She was a member of Liberty Baptist Church for many years. Nanny loved to dance, travel and was an avid fan of OU Sooner and OSU Cowboy’s football. She loved history, politics and Billy Graham.

She was preceded in death by husbands, John Thixton “Jake” Henderson and Don Rundle; her parents, Foster and Ada Harness; her twin sister, Neldean in 1924, twin sister and brother, Maxine Athens and Dean Harness, sister, LaVee Birt, sister,Vontella Fawl, brother, Foster “Joy” Harness and two of the triplets, sister and brother, Joyce Harness and Jeremiah Harness.

Those left to cherish her memory are her daughter and son-in-law, Thixe and Delbert Totty of Shawnee; granddaughter and husband, Shannon and J Cooper and their daughter, Calli Cooper of Tecumseh; grandson, Scott Totty of St. Charles, Missouri, and his children, Kelsey Totty and Jake Totty and their mother, Kristi Totty of Cottlesville, Missouri; sister, Alicia McCoy of Owasso; brother and sister-in-law, Bob and Martha Harness of Carthage, Texas; and many loving friends and extended family.

The family wishes to express our sincere gratitude to Heartland Hospice for their care and compassion given to our loved one.

The family has designated Liberty Baptist Church Food Pantry, 711 E. Federal, Shawnee, OK 74801 as appropriate for memorials.

Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m., Thursday, Feb. 9, and continue until service time. Family will gather to meet with friends and family from 5 to 7 p.m., Thursday, Feb. 9, at Cooper Funeral Home.

Celebration of Life service will be held 11 a.m., Friday, Feb. 10, at Liberty Baptist Church with Brother Phil Thompson officiating. Burial will follow at Resthaven Memorial Park under the direction of Cooper Funeral Home of Tecumseh.
