Willard Carl “Tommy” Thompson, age 90, passed away on March 11, 2017.

Tommy served as a Sergeant in the Army Air Corps during WWII and was also part of the Occupation Force in Japan. During his work career, Tommy owned and managed three restaurants. The last, just prior to his retirement, was the White Owl Café in Tecumseh.

Born in Shawnee, Tommy was the son of the late Carl Adolphus and Minnie Ethel (Stone) Thompson, of Wichita Falls, Texas.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a daughter, Carla Jade Thompson of Tecumseh; a brother, Raymond Doyle Thompson (Ruth, also deceased) of Paris Texas; and a sister, Peggy Joyce (Thompson) Dipprey (Owen, also deceased) of Wichita Falls, Texas.

He is survived by his loving companion, Carol Haynes of Shawnee; his son, James A. Thompson (Joanne) of Townville, South Carolina; granddaughter Cheryl Cartner (Ricky) and great-granddaughters, Sara Hinton and “Hope” Cartner of Lexington, South Carolina. Tommy is also survived by a cousin and several nieces and nephews.

Tommy will be interred at Tecumseh Cemetery on Saturday, March 25, at 11 a.m.
