Mary Lou Bachhofer, 64, of Tecumseh, passed away Monday, April 17, 2017, peacefully at her home in Tecumseh.

Mary Lou Bachhofer, 64, of Tecumseh, passed away Monday, April 17, 2017, peacefully at her home in Tecumseh.

She was born Dec. 8, 1952, in Shawnee to Melvin and Tressie (Gallaway) Brown.

Mary grew up in Meeker. She graduated from Meeker High School in 1971. Mary lived most of her life in Shawnee.

She married Larry Bachhofer on Sept. 27, 1996.

After 30 years of dedicated service, Mary retired from General Motors and later moved with her husband to Eufaula. Mary and Larry owned and operated “The Coconut Shack” for the last 12 years. In 2013, Mary moved to Tecumseh as her final home.

Mary enjoyed traveling, going to the lake, fishing and boating. She loved people and appreciated visiting and being with friends. When Mary was not at the lake you could find her with people she loved at the casino or playing a good game of darts. She was goal oriented and focused. Most of all she had a beautiful heart and was always generous and loving.

She was preceded in death by her mother and father; Melvin and Tressie Brown and husband, Larry Bachhofer.

Mary is survived by her children, Jennifer Ecker of Tecumseh, Latricia Munday of Belleville, Illinois, Scott Bachhofer of Shawnee, and Tempist Evenson and her husband Donavon, of Fredonia, Kansas; grandchildren, Chance Graves, Shaelee Cranford, Kade Bachhofer, Sebastian Evenson and Gavin Evenson; great-great-grandchild Blakely Graves; sisters, Dorothy McCathern and Coretta Cole; mother-in-law, Bonnie Garner; numerous nieces and nephews; and many other close family and friends.

Memorial services will be 2 p.m., Friday, April 21, at Cooper Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Johnny Stell officiating under the direction of Cooper Funeral Home of Tecumseh.
