More than 300 area students ages 8-14 are participating in STEM Camp at GCTC this week and next week. STEM stands for Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics.

STEM Camp emphasizes relationship, relevance and rigor, camp director and GCTC STEM Data Specialist Missy Dominy said.

Topics STEM Camp students study include DNA, cell structure, health and wellness, forensics, the human body, weather, ecology, space, chemical engineering, mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, aerospace engineering, matter and energy, fossil fuels, and alternative energy.
