Ronald Dean Bernard, 57, passed away peacefully at his home on July 5, 2017, after a battle with cancer, with his wife Judy by his side.

Ronny was born June 26, 1960, to the late Frances Bernard in Shawnee. He attended several schools, but was primarily educated at Macomb Elementary and high schools. Upon graduating from high school, he started his own lawn service, which he enjoyed being his own boss and being out in “the fresh air,” as he called it.

On Sept. 12, 2012, he married Judy Broder, the “true love of his life.”

There were a few things for which Ronny was known for: he was an avid OU fan and loved tailgating with numerous friends. He was an exceptionally hard worker who truly loved his family and friends.

Ronny is survived by Judy, his loving wife of the home, one son and daughter-in-law, David and Jessika of Lindsey, Oklahoma, one daughter and son-in-law Victoria and Shane Gregg of Lindsey, sister, Jackie Freeman of Tecumseh, sister and brother-in-law Sue and Les Kimbro of Ardmore; brother, Johnny Bernard of Ft. Worth Texas., six grandchildren: Max, Chase, Alexis, Lizzy Gregg, Layne and David, three nephews: Howard Freeman, Ryan Lowe and Jeremy Lowe, several cousins and wonderful friends who all loved Ronny.

Ronny was preceded in death by his mother, Frances Bernard, father, Johnny Bernard Sr., paternal grandmother, Georgia Varnell, brother-in-law, Shan Freeman, and nephew, Shannon Freeman.

Celebration of life is scheduled for July 29. For details, contact Judy, Jackie or Sue.
