On Aug. 10, 243 kindergarten through eighth grade students will return to Pleasant Grove School.

Despite the bond issue not passing in February, Pleasant Grove has been able to add several new elements to the school, Superintendent Scott Roper said.

“When students return they will notice new boys' and girls' restrooms near the main entrance,” Roper said. “The hallways will look different as a fresh coat of paint and new baseboards have been added.”

In order to make the school Blue Zones compliant, a water bottle filling station has been added in the cafeteria.

The school also purchased 25 new Dell desktop computers for their computer lab.

On Tuesday, volunteers from Jindal Films donated their time to replace the existing playground borders with new plastic borders.

Along with all the improvements, Pleasant Grove has added two new faculty members. Deborah Templeman is the new Dean of Students and Tara Barlean will be the new sixth, seventh and eighth grade language arts and social studies teacher.
