As classes resume at Grove School today, there are 525 students enrolled so far, an increase of 41 students from the 484 who attended the district last school year.

New Superintendent Mark Bowlan said the district is growing enough that they've added a second section of both pre-kindergarten and kindergarten classes for this school year.

In addition, students are returning to several new faces, with eight new teachers on staff.

“We're excited about all of them,” he said, adding Grove Schools also gets a lot of support from the parents and the community.

As far as summer projects go, the summer of 2016 was a big year for the district, with a new cafeteria and storm shelter built, along with remodeling for classroom space.

This past summer, the school's library was remodeled as a major project, Bowlan said.
