DALE — Monday, in the first ranking of the Class 2A fast-pitch season, Dale was ranked No.1.

The Lady Pirates didn’t let it go to their head, whipping Holdenville 8-0.

The game was stopped on the eight-run rule after Dale scored twice in the bottom of the fifth inning.

Victorious pitcher Rylie Premo (3-0) permitted one single in five innings. She walked one and fanned two. Holdenville didn’t advance a runner past second base.

Dale piled up 12 hits with Sara Lock leading the way with a single and 2-run triple, the latter in the third inning.

Delanie Manning and Skyler Thompson posted a single and double apiece. Thompson drove in two runs.

London Calvillo added two singles and Premo was credited with a double.

Dale improved to 9-0.

Coach Andy Powell’s victors will entertain Depew at 4:30 today. The Lady Pirates will travel to Tecumseh Thursday for a 6:30 varsity game, then end a busy week Friday at the Oklahoma State University Festival in Stillwater. Dale will take on Sand Springs at 12:30 and Putnam City at 5:30.
