EARLSBORO - The Earlsboro Wildcats fell to New Lima 6-4 in extra innings Monday night.

“We made some mistakes and the majority of them were mental,” coach Paxton Kilby said. “Our kids need to work on moving on to the next pitch and not talking back to the umpire if they don't agree with a call. We have two more games this week so hopefully we can get over the mental hurdles.”

The Wildcats had a chance to score runs in the first inning, when Elijah Stargell reached third on a throwing error and Trey Herron was hit by a pitch. Herron stole second to give Earlsboro two runners in scoring position.

New Lima managed to score three runs in the fifth inning, and the Wildcats answered back with four in the bottom of the inning

New Lima would tack on one run in the sixth and two more in the eighth.

Earlsboro's Herron led off the final frame with a single to left and stole second but the Wildcats were unable to capitalize.

Herron got the start for the Wildcats, going two innings and striking out four and walking two.

Lucky Bohannon took the loss for Earlsboro. Bohannon pitched six innings, while giving up six hits and striking out seven.

Earlsboro (2-2) will travel to Agra Tuesday with first pitch coming at 4 p.m.
