ASHER — Strother took a 6-0 lead after the top of the first inning and held on for an 8-7 victory over error-prone Asher Tuesday.

Asher rebounded for five runs in the second and single runs in the fifth and seventh before coming up just short.

Jordan Odell, who relieved Asher starter Gracy Hadley with one out in the first, allowed just three hits and two runs (both unearned) in 6 2/3 innings. Odell fanned seven and walked one.

Five of Strother’s runs were unearned as Asher committed eight errors.

Asher outhit Strother 9-3. Braxton Frazier led Asher with a 3 of 4 outing which included two doubles.

Bailey Larman drove in four runs off a double and sacrifice fly.

Asher (3-1) will serve as host for the Asher Tournament Thursday through Saturday.
