There was plenty of “Alohas,” Hawaiian shirts, dancing, music and food as Belfair of Shawnee played host to a luau Thursday night.

Belfair residents, along with their family members and staff, enjoyed the luau, complete with hula dancers and an outdoor show of flame twirlers.

Belfair Executive Director Marci Minor said residents and family members enjoyed the event, adding those who have visited Hawaii said everything about the luau was authentic. Minor said the hula dancers and flame twirlers, who traveled here from Houston, put on quite a show. About 250 people were in attendance.
