Winrow’s wide receivers coach recently said that the redshirt freshman has shown bright spots getting ready for the season.

Creed Humphrey isn’t the only former Shawnee football player trying to make things happen at the D1 level.

In 2016, Jackson Winrow signed with Vanderbilt, a school known for high-quality academics in the SEC. He took advantage of a redshirt year in 2016 and looks like he has a chance to make some plays in 2017 for the Commodores.

Winrow’s wide receivers coach recently said that the redshirt freshman has shown bright spots getting ready for the season.

“He is just pure raw athleticism. He has a chance with some development to be pretty darn good,” Cortez Hankton said.

That is no surprise to Shawnee fans who saw Winrow record 52 receptions, good for 1,052 yards and 12 TDs as a senior in 2015.

After catching a touchdown pass in the spring game and impressing coaches with his talent in fall camp, Winrow has a chance to see playing time this season for Vandy.
