The Shawnee Police Department — along with tribal, county and state emergency responders and agencies — joined together Saturday afternoon to spend the day with the community, offering food, games and activities at Woodland Veterans Park.

SPD Officer Vivian Lozano-Stafford said children who checked in at the event received goody bags with a T-shirt inside.

Free hot dogs, chips and cookies were available for attendees and Kona Ice will provided snow cones.

Activities included police car rides, games, a dunk tank, face painting, inflatables, finger printing, a petting zoo, prizes and giveaways sack races and three-legged races, clowns, as well as a helicopter or two and a disc jockey, she said.
