For the 79th year, Pottawatomie County will host its free fair. All events will be held at the Heart of Oklahoma Expo Center in Shawnee.

On Wednesday, Sept. 6, festivities will kick off with various arts and crafts events along with check-in for the 4-H livestock competitions. The farm hand olympics will start at 6 p.m.

Thursday's festivities start with 4-H and FF horse shows. There will be various tractor and farm related displays throughout the day. The grand opening of the exhibits to the public and carnival will be at 5:00 p.m.

More animal shows resume on Friday. Other featured events include an antique tractor show from 9 to 10 a.m. Pee-wee tractor racing and barrel racing events will start at 7 p.m. The carnival will again be open from 5 to 10 p.m.

On Saturday, more livestock competitions will begin at 9 a.m. and continue through the day. The fire fighters olympics will begin at 10 a.m. The Hot Pursuit BBQ contest will be held from 11:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. The Oklahoma Jr. Rodeo will start at 12 p.m. and continue through Sunday. The Fetch and Fish dog show will start at 1 p.m.

The fair closes nightly at 10 p.m.
