Leona Mae (Trammell) Reeves-Lewis, 93, of Tecumseh, passed away Friday, Sept. 1, 2017, in Tecumseh.

Leona Mae (Trammell) Reeves-Lewis, 93, of Tecumseh, passed away Friday, Sept. 1, 2017, in Tecumseh.

She was born July 4, 1924, to Rufus Calvin and Laura Callistine (Freeman) Trammell in the Anderson community in the Macomb area.

Leona was raised in the Anderson community and attended school at Romulus, Prairie View, Anderson, Centerview and earned her GED.

She married Johnny W. Reeves on May 17, 1942, and he preceded her in death on Aug. 14, 1969. She married James T. Lewis in 1979 and he preceded her in death on Sept. 9, 1992.

Leona worked as a dietician supervisor at Shawnee Medical Center for 25 years until her retirement. While working full time at the hospital she also worked part-time as a realtor for Lucky U Realtors in Shawnee. After her retirement from the hospital she began working full time for Lucky U Realtors.

She loved going to estate sales and auctions.

She was preceded in death by her parents; two husbands; daughter, Donna Childers, son, John Reeves; one grandchild; one great-grandchild; all her brothers and sisters; and son-in-law, Larry Schoemann.

Those left to cherish her memory are three daughters, Cathy Schoemann of Asher, Linda and Mike Marrs of Tecumseh, and Ruthi and Randy Loftis of Shawnee; one son, Mack and Kathy Reeves of Shawnee; one daughter-in-law, Marion Reeves of Tecumseh; one son-in-law, Dean Childers of Shawnee; 15 grandchildren; 36 great-grandchildren; 10 great-great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, and other extended family and friends.

Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m., Tuesday, Sept. 5, and continue through service time.

Service will be 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, Sept. 6, at Cooper Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Clint Dawkins, Sharon Baptist Church, officiating under the direction of Cooper Funeral Home of Tecumseh.
