A group of 10-12 volunteers from Blackburn Chapel Baptist in Bethel Acres will leave September 15 for Spring, Texas near Houston to do relief work.

The Spring Baptist Church area will be the focus where Dr. Mark Estep is Pastor; he is the former Pastor of Hopewell Baptist Church in Bethel Acres. The team is taking a semi trailer load of supplies for the people of bottled water, diapers, toilet paper, canned and dry foods, insect spray, baby wipes, but no clothes.

The team will be doing “Mud out” of houses and removing debris from the homes. They will be sleeping on cots, eating at the church and servants to the needy while there. Hurricane Harvey created devastating circumstances in the Houston area and many felt burdened. Lee Mullendore, in obedience to the Spirits call, is leading the team and driving the semi provided by Rainmaker and Randy Gilbert Trucking.

The church is accepting donations at Blackburn Chapel as a drop off location through next week. Any of these items or financial donations may be brought to the church. Checks will be converted to a donation for Relief at Spring Baptist Church from Blackburn Chapel.

Any and all help is appreciated. Br. Larry Sparks is Pastor. For more information, call 273-6763 and 550-9320.
