Joe Ray Richardson, 90, of Fort Smith, Arkansas, went to be with Jesus on Monday, Sept. 4, 2017.

He was born Oct. 15, 1926, in Noble to Hiram Emory and Lucy Sharp Richardson.

He was retired and the former owner of Instep Footwear in Fort Smith, Arkansas.

Joe accepted Jesus as his Savior as a young boy and was a faithful member of Grand Avenue Baptist Church.

He is survived by his wife of 71 years, Doris Imogene Richardson of the home; two children RaJeana Richardson Dukes of Benton, Arkansas, and Gary Steven Richardson (Patti) of Fort Smith, Arkansas; four grandchildren Beth Richardson Franklin of Springdale, Arkansas, Ellen Dukes Rackley (Tom) of Benton, Arkansas, Leslie Dukes Silvey (Brent) of Springdale, Arkansas, Rich Richardson (Hilary) of Springdale, Arkansas; and 10 great-grandchildren.

A memorial service with military honors will be held at the Fort Smith National Cemetery on Thursday, Sept. 7, at 2 p.m. directed by Lewis-Roberts Funeral Chapel, Fort Smith.
