Joe David Johnson, also known as Coach Johnson, entered the gates of heaven on Aug. 29, 2017 at his home in Moore, Oklahoma, at the age of 45.

Joe David Johnson, also known as Coach Johnson, entered the gates of heaven on Aug. 29, 2017 at his home in Moore, Oklahoma, at the age of 45. He was born on May 21, 1972, to Joe P. and Sherri Johnson in Ada, Oklahoma.

Joe went to Tecumseh Public Schools and graduated in 1990. After high school Joe attended Eastern Oklahoma State College and East Central University graduating with a degree in Secondary Education.

Those left to cherish his memory are his loving wife of 18 years, Tracy Johnson of the home; one son Jarrett Johnson of the home; and his sweet Cocker Spaniel Roxy; his parents Joe P. and Sherri Johnson of Tecumseh; brother Jay and wife Mandy Johnson and their son Jax of Tecumseh; sister Holly and husband Kyle Donaghey and their two children Kynlee and Kade of Tecumseh; and many special aunts, uncles, cousins, friends, and family.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in memory of Joe David Johnson to the American Brain Tumor Association, 8550 West Bryn Mawr Ave., Suite 550, Chicago, IL 60631; Joe Johnson Family Support Trust at any Mid-First Bank; Tecumseh Athletics c/o Tecumseh School Board; or Moore Athletics c/o Moore Public Schools.

A Celebration of Life service will be held at 3 p.m on Sunday, Sept. 17 at Moore High School Performing Arts Center. (300 North Eastern Avenue, Moore, OK).
