Friday, September 15, Downtown Shawnee will be booming with vendors, live music, and people for the Third Friday Block Party.  This Friday's Block Party is huge, and will feature activities for the whole family.  Activities will go from Oklahoma all the way to Broadway; attendees can start at one end of Main Street and make plans to hit it all.

The Shawnee Public Library plans to feature a football themed movie, while The Arts at 317 will have StumbleEast providing live music from 6:30-8:30 and new art by Tony Trammell.  Handycaps will have t-shirts available for sale at The Arts at 317, as well.  In the Celebration of Life Park (at the Corner of Main and Philadelphia), there will be vendors to shop, activities for the kids, live music by David Haberland, and coffee and yoga in the park with The Gathering Place.  Continue down Main Street to find all kinds of street dancing including Zumba and line dancing, and an art gallery inside Studio 112 and a half.  And The Doggie Spot is will have frisbee dogs. At Tom Terry Park (Broadway and Main), Carrie Mick will be performing and there will be sidewalk chalk for the kids and local produce available for purchase from local farmers.

Do not miss the chance to dine at the Downtown Restaurants that are offering extended hours for this event, as well.  Hamburger King, The LunchBox, Old Owl Shoppe, Benton’s Cafe and Boom-a-rang will be ready to feed the family during the festivities.
