Terry Ray Coon, 60, departed this life Wednesday, Sept. 20, 2017, in Oklahoma City.

He was born July 19, 1957, in Oklahoma City to the late Walter Coon and Lillie Mae Fixico Coon.

Terry was a graduate of Bowlegs high school and attended Seminole State College.

He worked as a tribal officer for Sac & Fox, Pottawatomie, and Absentee tribes. He also worked for Oklahoma and Denver, Colorado, department of corrections.

His hobbies were fishing and attending ballgames and watching them on TV. He enjoyed dressing up as mascot for different teams. Most of all he enjoyed spending time with his family.

Preceding Terry in death are his parents, siblings Bessie Wise, Lucy Coon, Kelly Wise, Walter Coon Jr. and Johnny Coon.

Survivors include his children Darrell Coon of Okemah, Terrill Coon, of Okemah, Jerrod Coon of Norman, and Jerremy Coon of Norman: one grandchild Adyson Coon of Seminole; twin brother Timothy Coon and wife Brenda of Welty, brother Billy Coon and wife Bonita of Okemah: two sisters Rosie Smith and husband Captain of Earlsboro and Katherine Lee of Lawton, and a host of other relatives and friends.

Honorary pall bearers will be Vincent Coon and Wade Davis.

Pall bearers will be Greg Smith, Jo Jon Smith, Kobe Smith, Gregory Smith, Kelly Fixico, and Colin Coon.

The body will be taken at 4 p.m., Friday, Sept. 22, to Prairie Springs Indian Baptist Church, Okemah, for a 7:30 p.m. wake service.

Funeral service will be 1 p.m., Saturday, Sept. 23, at Prairie Spring Indian Baptist Church, Okemah, with reverends Billy Coon, Tim Coon and Chad Smith officiating and burial to follow at Prairie Springs Indian Church Cemetery.
