After the deadly shooting in Las Vegas earlier this week, Pottawatomie County Sheriff Mike Booth on Wednesday said investigators began probing a local situation Tuesday night based on statements allegedly made.
Booth said his office received a call from the OSBI to check out claims that a man in Pottawatomie County was allegedly making statements that he could do something in Oklahoma City's Bricktown. Whether it was boastful statements or more, deputies couldn't take any chances, Booth said, saying it's up to them to check everything out.
The sheriff said authorities, on Tuesday night, obtained search warrants for a location in the area. In the end, they did find a gun reported stolen from a police officer in the state of Florida, Booth said, but no ammunition and no other firearms were found. No arrests have been made, the sheriff said, but the matter remains under investigation.
