The Seminole State College baseball team will be hosting alumni weekend events October 27 and 28, including a community golf tournament and special baseball alumni activities. Proceeds from these events will go to support the College’s baseball program.

The weekend will begin with an open practice for all SSC baseball alumni on Friday, October 27 at the Oiler Ballpark in Seminole. Friday evening, a Baseball Alumni Social will be held at 7:30 p.m. at the Bumpy Brick Grill in Seminole. Dinner and a soft drink will be provided to those who attend.

On Saturday, October 28, alumni and community members are invited to participant in a golf tournament at the Jimmie Austin Municipal Golf Course in Seminole. The tournament will begin with a shotgun start at 9 a.m. Entry fee for the two-person scramble is $100 per player. Payment includes green fees and cart as well as breakfast and lunch. Mulligans are available for $10 each, with a limit of two per player.

Hole sponsorships, providing recognition for business and individual supporters of the baseball team, are available for $100 each.

Following the golf tournament, a homerun hitting contest will begin at 1:30 p.m. at Oiler Park. Entry for the contest is $20 per person. After the hitting contest, an Alumni vs. 2018 Trojans baseball game is scheduled for 2:30 p.m.

SSC Head Baseball Coach Dax Leone said, “We are always excited to see all the former Trojans and their families. This is also a great event for our current players. They are able to see our former players’ passion for Trojan Baseball.  Our job as coaches at SSC every year is to continue a tradition of excellence, on and off the field. Our current team is in a really competitive off-season this fall, working towards one common goal – a national championship.”
