A Pontotoc County jury has found a Seminole couple guilty of child abuse and first-degree murder in the case of a Seminole County boy missing since 2006.

James Rex Clark, 67, and Rebecca Faith Clark, 61, were charged April 19, 2016 in Seminole County District Court with first-degree murder in the death of their 9-year-old nephew and foster son, Colton Clark, who disappeared in 2006. They also faced four counts of felony child abuse by injury.

Back in April, a change of venue request was approved to move the trial out of Seminole County. Their trial began Oct. 2 in Pontotoc County and concluded late Monday afternoon when the case was handed to the jury for deliberations.

Both were arrested and jailed in the case on April 8, 2016 as investigators converged on their home near Seminole to serve a search warrant. Authorities then searched the couple’s 5-acre farm for the child’s remains, but they still have not been found.
