Shawnee city sales tax collections are up for October, compared to the same month a year ago.

Cindy Arnold, finance director and city treasurer, reports the October sales tax check received this month was $1,565,343 or 4.58 percent higher than October 2016 figures of $1,496,732 — a difference of $68,611.

“For the year, we are up 2.72 percent, which is slightly above what we budgeted for,” Arnold said.

The Use Tax deposit in October was $125,352 — up $22,259 from October of 2016, when $103,093 was received, she said.

County

Pottawatomie County's sales tax collections for October showed an increase in revenue over October 2016. Treasurer Wendy Magnus reported this month's collections totaled $695,083.79, up from the same month a year ago when $665,038.73 was received –– an increase of $30,045.06.
