The Shawnee swim team opened up their season Saturday in a meet at Harrah that saw the girls finish second as a team and the boys take sixth to finish fifth place overall combined.

The Shawnee swim team opened up their season Saturday in a meet at Harrah that saw the girls finish second as a team and the boys take sixth to finish fifth place overall combined. The girls were just barely edged out by Harrah with a score of 294 to Harrah’s 294.5.

The girls started things off with a first-place win in the 200 medley relay as Isabel Webb, Leticia Cervantes, Lauren Grein and Madeline Motley put up a time of 2:06.13. Cervantes, Grein, Webb and Avery Hadley repeated in the 200 free relay with a 1:52.81 time to take first in that.

Cervantes finished first in the 200 individual medley with a time of 2:32.12 and put up a time of 6:04.97 in the 500 freestyle race to take the gold in it as well.

Grein finished second in the 100 butterfly with a time of 1:07.72 and took fifth in the 100 free after posting a 1:04.85 time. Webb took third in the 50 free (27.86) and completed the 100-meter backstroke in 1:12.73 for fourth-place.

Brodie Morris and Trent Ogden led the Shawnee boys.

Odgen finished third place in both the 50 free (24.38) and 100 back (1:03.82). Morris finished third in the 500 free with a time of 5:54.11 and fourth in the 200 free with a 2:06.02 finish.

The Wolves will be back in action Thursday as they host Moore at 4:00 p.m. at the Shawnee YMCA.
