A Shawnee police report released Monday outlines that the driver of a Dodge was likely under the influence of medications when she struck an SUV and caused it to overturn on Kickapoo Street Saturday.
The accident occurred about 12:52 p.m. at Kickapoo and 39th Street.
The reports shows a 2006 Dodge driven by Patricia D. Farris, 59, was facing westbound on 39th Street attempting to turn south.
When she did, her vehicle struck the rear passenger side quarter panel of a northbound Ford Explorer driven by Dezere L. Crockett, 23. The collision caused the SUV to overturn, landing on its top, the report shows.
Crockett had three passengers in the SUV, including two children. Crockett suffered a possible injury, while her adult passenger suffered an unknown injury. A 4-year-old suffered a leg injury and a 10-month-old suffered an unknown injury, the report shows.
The report shows there was no improper action by Crockett, while the reports shows Farris failed to yield to a vehicle in the intersection.
The report shows Farris, who was not injured, took the state's blood test and she was listed on the report as driving under the influence of medication.
