Danny “Dan” Kesterson, 69, of Macomb, passed away Monday, Nov. 27, 2017, in Sulphur.

Danny “Dan” Kesterson, 69, of Macomb, passed away Monday, Nov. 27, 2017, in Sulphur.

He was born March 4, 1948, to Benjamin Franklin and Lucille (Hunkapiller) Kesterson in Ralls, Texas.

Dan was raised in Hooks, Texas. He lived numerous places before settling in Macomb 26 years ago.

Dan proudly served his country in the U.S. Air Force during the Vietnam War and was honorably discharged.

He married Cynthia Keisling on June 10, 1992, in Yuma, Arizona.

Dan worked as the bakery manager for Homeland Grocery Store for many years. He also served as a non-denominational minister.

Dan loved the Lord. He loved to going to the local nursing home to minister and loved playing his guitar. Dan loved to go fishing and had a love for country music.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Benjamin and Lucille Kesterson; and brother, Johnny Kesterson.

Those left to cherish his memory are his loving wife of 25 years, Cynthia Kesterson of the home; four daughters and one son-in-law, Evelyn Kesterson of Valiant, Melissa Baxter of Valiant, Waniece and Wendell Myers of Macomb, and Amanda Newton Rosamond of Tecumseh; six grandchildren, Clay Baxter of Valiant, Jake Baxter of Valiant, Tray Meddock of Broken Bow, Gabriel Rosamond of Tecumseh, Katelynn Myers of Macomb, and Kaycie Myers of Macomb; one sister and one brother-in-law, Brenda Kesterson and Johan Vanmechelen of Belgium; mother-in-law, Vivian Hill of Shawnee; father-in-law, Arubrey Hoisington of Shawnee; brother-in-law, Kent Keisling of Earlsboro; and other extended family and friends.

Visitation will be from noon to 8 p.m., Wednesday, Nov. 29, and from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m., Thursday, Nov. 30, and continue through service time. Family gathering to greet friends and family will from 5 to 7 p.m., Thursday, Nov. 30, at Cooper Funeral Home.

Service will be 2 p.m., Friday, Dec. 1, at Church of the Believers, 117 Church Drive, Tecumseh, with Pastor Carl Siler officiating. Burial will follow at Prairie View Cemetery in Macomb under the direction of Cooper Funeral Home of Tecumseh.
