DALE – The Pirates were unable to match the intensity of the Class A fifth ranked Okarche Warriors, losing 61-45 Tuesday night.

The teams traded baskets in the first quarter and the first frame ended knotted up at 17-17.

Dale's first basket of the second quarter came on a press break by Gabe Gouge, giving the Pirates the lead 19-17.

Okarche answered back with a trey and extended their lead to 32-27 heading into the locker room at halftime.

Dale's #15 scored the first points of the second half, connecting on one of two free throws. Okarche went on a 7-0 run extending their lead to 41-28. Okarche continued with hot shooting in the third quarter,

extending their lead to 49-33 at the end of the third quarter.

Dale's #4 knocked down a trey to start the fourth, but the Pirates were unable to gain any momentum and the Pirates would trail by as many as 17 in the final quarter.

Logan Woodruff led the Pirates in scoring with 15. Brady Johnson and Gouge also hit double figures with 13 and 11 respectively.
