A response to a reported fire in Pink late Wednesday afternoon turned into firefighters finding a naked man wandering out of the woods with a gunshot wound as well as a car on fire in a ravine, prompting a manhunt, Pottawatomie County Sheriff Mike Booth said.

The Pink Fire Department initially responded to reports of a grass fire in an area south of SH 9, east of the Pottawatomie/Cleveland County line, Assistant Fire Chief Doyle Stansell said.

Upon arrival, fire crews discovered the naked and injured man wandering out of the woods.

Fire crews assisted him while other firefighters extinguished the vehicle fire that was also spreading to grass around it. Pink and Little Axe firefighters worked the scene.

Booth said the man, who was suffering from an apparent gunshot to the lower torso, also told deputies that he had been stabbed. He was transported from the scene to an area hospital; his name has not been released.

The sheriff said the shooting victim reported three suspects were involved, so a manhunt began in the area. With help from a drone used by the Pottawatomie County Sheriff's Office, Booth said one man surrendered to the drone flying overhead and was taken into custody,.

That man, who was claiming to deputies that he also was a victim, didn't appear to be injured, Booth said, but he was being questioned in the case Wednesday night.

“We're trying to determine if he is a victim or perpetrator,” Booth said.

Since the incident occurred around the Cleveland County line, Booth said Cleveland County deputies also were involved in a manhunt Wednesday evening relating to this matter. Oklahoma City police also were reportedly investigating a matter possibly related to the case.

As information continued to develop into the evening, Booth said they believe the shooting victim found in Pottawatomie County was possibly kidnapped and taken to a motel room in Oklahoma City, but Pottawatomie County deputies aren't sure if that shooting victim was shot in Oklahoma City or where he was found near Pink.

An investigation was ongoing late Wednesday.
