A female suspect sought during a manhunt near the prison in McLoud was apprehended in Shawnee Sunday evening, deputies reported.

Authorities conducted a manhunt for three suspects who were allegedly trying to drop off contraband near the Mabel Bassett Correctional Facility in McLoud.

Pottawatomie County Undersheriff Travis Palmer said a resident who lives in that area saw a suspicious person near the prison Sunday morning.

In all, three suspects wearing hoodies and all back clothing were seen fleeing the area, where they dropped items that were believed to be contraband that they were going to try to pass on at the prison.

Palmer said DOC guards were able to identify one of the suspects as Mary Albicker, a recent prisoner.

She was found and arrested near Shawnee Sunday evening, Palmer said, and booked into the Pottawatomie County Public Safety Center.

Palmer said 11 packages the size of miniature footballs were found. Most appear to contain tobacco products, he said, while several have unknown contents until deputies open them for further analysis.

Palmer said deputies, along with CPN and Absentee Shawnee tribal police, Oklahoma City police and Oklahoma County deputies were all involved in this manhunt.
