Greetings go forth with many wishes for a great Christmas Eve and Christmas Day! What joys to behold in thoughts as we recall the story of our Lord, Jesus Christ. So, here’s a big Merry Christmas wish for joy, laughter, great conversations and plenty of photographs taken to preserve your family heritage, for many decades to come!

We have waited all year for this special holiday and before you know it, with realization, the Holy Season will have evaporated into the eons of history. What history are you going to leave behind? Did you take any good photographs with actual camera or was it on cell phones, etc.?

Well, did you forget to make someone’s special dessert or omit their name from you gift list? Maybe that is called being forgetful, which I seem to be doing more and more as time evaporates into the eons of ages. But, I did read an article about a forgetful mind indicates a person’s intelligence!

WOW! If that is the case, then there sure are a lot of very intelligent people running around out there in society! As I typed that statement, I had to laugh, ‘cause I am right up at the front of the line! You see, my column was supposed to be in a day before now, but it “slipped my mind!” Wow, that disease has hit me already, but in waking up for some unknown reason, I think the good Lord bumped me on the head and caused my blood to start circulating real fast and there, it hit me smack dab in the middle of my thoughts: “You left the computer on and you fell asleep without finishing your column!”

Well, that got the blood to circulating and thoughts swirling around, so I am getting my column out with a few minutes to spare! Now, back to having a thoughtful mind; do you ever forget anything? Well, if you do, then you are ranked right in there with the rest of us very intelligent people! The reason I know that fact, I read an article that had been published several years ago about some scientists doing research up in Toronto.

The article was supposedly printed in the Journal Neuron, that told of scientists at the University of Toronto suggesting that having total recall of everything is not all that it is cracked up to be! The researchers related how that having forgetfulness is not just normal, now, get a load of this: “It supposedly, actually makes us smarter!”

Gee, then I will leave this ole world and go to Heaven being one of the smartest Angels up there!! How about you, don’t you agree with me, that you and all of our relatives and friends will be right there beside us!

The interesting article went on to state that the way all of the brain works, is that by allowing our decision making processes to be more efficient, and helping us to let all of the trivial details go! Because, then, we won’t have to try to later process them through our thought process! Gee, I may have to end this soon, because it is beginning to get a bit deep for my thinking!

So, in the end, the article stated that if we have let the trivial stuff fly off out into the wild blue yonder, then we don’t have to try to make our brain work so hard in trying to process any forgotten thoughts. So, you see, the article made it clear, that is, if we let go of all the unimportant details, then, we can relax and won’t be clogging up our brains with any undated or outdated information!

Whewee! I am glad that I finally got that explained so that all of you can now stay smarter than most of the others that haven’t read my very informative column!! I hope that put a smile on your face, since you are sitting there so stuffed from sneaking some of the fudge or fruit cake, that you are miserable; but after laughing a bit, and watching some more good football games, you will be just fine!

So, Merry Christmas and Happy New Year’s to each of you, with wishes and prayers to each, for a very prosperous and healthy year for all, with all of us reading our Bibles more, speading more love and a bit of cheer than before, and making sure we are saying our prayers!
