Alice Wanda Cook, 87, of Shawnee, died Tuesday, Dec. 19, 2017, at her home.

Alice Wanda Cook, 87, of Shawnee, died Tuesday, Dec. 19, 2017, at her home.

She was born Sept. 15, 1930, in Konawa to Charles and Lonnie Hamrick.

She was a 1948 graduate of Vamoosa High School.

She worked as a bookkeeper at Finley and Cook.

She married Don Cook.

She was a Master Gardener, avid swimmer and tennis player, wife, mother, and grandmother. She enjoyed yard work, going to the lake, traveling and fishing.

She was a member of St. Paul’s United Methodist Church and the YMCA.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Lonnie Hamrick, husband Don Cook, and her siblings, Barney Hamrick, Martha Thomas, and Jean Blaine.

Survivors include children: Steve and Chris Cook, Bruce Troxel, Jim Troxel and Janis Young; grandchildren: Carrie Clark, Jeffrey Cook, Shelly Troxel Tevis, Randy and Misty Troxel, Ashley Troxel, Kristi Troxel, and Cale and Kaytlin Young; numerous great-grandkids and one great-great-grandson.

Service will be at 2 p.m., Wednesday, Dec. 27, at Walker Funeral Service Chapel with Rev. Kris Steele officiating. Burial will be at Fairview Cemetery.
