Gloria Sanchez, 37, of Oklahoma City, and Rosemary Davis, 49, of Stonewall, both died Wednesday as a result of injuries suffered in an accident that occurred on U.S. 177 and Ruggles Road.

The accident occurred around 6:30 p.m. when one of the vehicles crossed the center line resulting in both parties involved suffering fatal injuries, the Oklahoma Highway Patrol report said.

According to the accident report, the 2006 Kia Spectra driven by Sanchez was traveling northbound on U.S. 177 approaching Ruggles Road when she attempted to pass in a no passing zone and struck head-on a southbound 2015 Ford Escape driven by Davis, with the impact causing the SUV to roll onto its side, the report said.

Sanchez was pinned for approximately 15 minutes while Davis was pinned for approximately one hour, the report said.

Both drivers were extricated by the Tecumseh Fire Department, the report said.

Sanchez was transported by REACT EMS to St. Anthony Shawnee Hospital and was pronounced dead at the hospital due to internal trunk injuries, the report said.

Davis was pronounced dead at the scene due to internal trunk injuries.

Both drivers were wearing seat belts at the time of the accident, the report said.
