EARLSBORO – Sasakwa was too much for the Earlsboro Lady Wildcats, beating them 56-36 Thursday afternoon in the opening round of the Jim Walling Classic.
Sasakwa jumped out to an early 21-8 lead. Stormy Johnson led the way with seven points in the first quarter. Earlsboro's Briana Nadeau had four points in the quarter.
The Lady Wildcats were unable to muster an offense in the second quarter and Sasakwa took a 38-15 lead into halftime.
McCarroll scored Earlsboro's two third quarter points.
Anesah Lindsey scored the Lady Wildcats' first five points of the fourth quarter but were unable to string together back-to- back baskets in the final frame. Lindsey added two more three-pointers later in the fourth quarter.
McCarroll led Earlsboro with 10 points. Lindsey chipped in nine points, eight of which came in the fourth quarter.
Felicity Davis scored a game-high 12 points. Madison Factor and Areyona Morgal joined her in double figures with 11 and 10 points respectively.
Sasakwa will face the winner of Smithville and Dibble at 4 p.m. Friday. Earlsboro will play the loser of that game at 10 a.m. Friday.
