Billy Gene Hendrix, 77, of Tecumseh, passed away Monday, Jan. 8, 2018, in Lindsey, Oklahoma.

Bill Hendrix, 78 of Tecumseh, passed away Monday, Jan. 8, 2018, in Lindsay.

He was born Jan. 1, 1940, to Wilby and Alma Hendrix in Wagoner.

Bill was raised in the Tulsa area. He lived in Oklahoma City until moving to Tecumseh in 1975 where he has since lived.

Bill was a long haul truck driver for over 50 years.

He enjoyed fishing, long haul driving and CB radio.

He was preceded in death by his son, Bobby Ray Hendrix; grandson, Douglas Gene Lupton; his parents; brother, Jerry Lee Hendrix; and sister, Sue Richardson; and former wife, LaJuan Hendrix.

Bill is survived by six daughters and two sons-in-law, Teresa Hendrix of Carrollton, Texas, Gloria Contreras of Grand Prairie, Texas, Donna and Greg Espinosa of Bagwell, Texas, Thelma and Steve Strong of Baton Rouge, Louisiana, Sandra Tigner of Shawnee, and Denna Tigner of Shawnee; two sons and one daughter-in-law, Randy Eugene and Kim Hendrix of Bagwell, Texas, and Danny Tigner of Shawnee; 13 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; one brother, Wilby Hendrix Jr. of Greenville, Texas; and many loving friends and extended family members.

Visitation will be 11 a.m. to 8 p.m., Wednesday, Jan. 10, and from 9 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., Thursday, Jan. 11, at Cooper Funeral Home.

Graveside service will be 2 p.m., Thursday, Jan. 11, at Fairview Cemetery in Shawnee with Reverend Will Bentley officiating under the direction of Cooper Funeral Home of Tecumseh.
