SHAWNEE – The Class B No. 1 Earlsboro Wildcats had no problems disposing of Allen JV 77-44 Monday evening in the first round of the Pottawatomie County Invitational at North Rock Creek.

Earlsboro’s Trenton Nadeau started the game with three consecutive three-pointers and the Wildcats took a 9-5 lead.

The Wildcats connected on 10 three-pointers in the first half.

With a few minutes left in the second quarter, Kaveon Sharp went down with an apparent head injury but returned to the bench in the second half.

Earlsboro ended the first half on a 14-0 run and led 45-25.

Coach Russell Parsons went to his bench with a few minutes left in the third quarter.

Earlsboro was led by Trey Herron with 23 points. He was 7 of 12 from long distance and surpassed 1,000 points for his career.

Nadeau and Austin Cox joined him in double figures with 15 and 12 respectively. Cox also chipped in eight assists and Garret Lena added four steals.

Earlsboro will play the winner of Wetumka and Wellston Thursday at 8:30 p.m. Allen JV will face the loser of that game Friday at 5:30 p.m.
