Dale High School senior Lauren Blankenship is unwavering in her faith and as a result, she is dedicated to her school and community.

For those reasons, she is one of the two students selected as The Shawnee News-Star and Patriot Auto Group Students of the Month for December and is now a finalist to win a car.

Blankenship was selected as the senior class president and has used her leadership skills to help organize several school projects. She is also the student council vice president and has helped spearhead a campaign to help hurricane victims.

“My mom had a great influence on me being a leader,” Blankenship said.

Outside of school, Blankenship is on the student board at Bancfirst and attended the Kiwanis camp in

the Lake of the Arbuckles last year. She also helps out for an hour each day at the elementary school and is trusted to pick-up and and drop off pre-K students for school.

Teachers at Dale High School are able to rely heavily on Blankenship. She volunteers to take yearbook photos even though her schedule does not allow her to enroll in the class.

When she graduates, Blankenship hopes to attend Seminole State College on a PLC scholarship and major in biology with plans to eventually attend The University of Oklahoma down the road.

Blankenship currently maintains a 3.83 GPA.
