Shawnee police have arrested a man who allegedly walked into Shawnee's Red Rock Behavioral Facility today and pointed a loaded firearm at a receptionist. No injuries were reported.

Shawnee Police Cpl. Vivian Lozano-Stafford said the man walked in to the center, 101 N. Union, with the stolen fully loaded revolver and pointed it at the woman at the front desk, telling her to call police.

Shawnee officers responded, she said, and treated the situation like those they train for in active shooter situations to prevent something else from happening.

Through those efforts, the man pointed the revolver at the ceiling a few times, but he was ultimately taken into custody without incident or any injuries, she said.

The man, who had reportedly been to the center before, will be booked into jail, Lozano-Stafford said, but his name has not yet been released. He will be booked on complaints of feloniously pointing a firearm and assault with a deadly weapon.
