Choctaw's hot shooting second quarter was more than Shawnee could withstand Thursday afternoon and the Wolves fell into the Consolation Bracket in the 2018 Shawnee Invitational after a 57-46 loss to 6A's No. 13 team.

Chase Morris score the first four points of the game for Shawnee and pushed the Wolves to a 4-3 early lead. However Choctaw fought back to lead 14-12 after one period.

The second quarter was where the game was decided. Austin Daugherty hit six of his seven three pointers in the second period. The Yellowjackets had 11 three pointers before intermission. Shawnee didn't hit its first shot from behind the arc until DeAndre Love nailed one at the end of the third quarter.

The Wolves trailed 42-17 at the half, but they rallied in the second half to cut the lead to single digits at a couple of points in the fourth quarter. But the hole was just too deep and Shawnee fell into consolation bracket play Friday morning at 11:30 against Stillwater. The Pioneers lost to Norman North 67-49 Thursday.

LJ McKissick led the Wolves with 13 points and Love and Daryl Busby each scored 8. Morris finished with five points, Donavan Neal had 4 and Cody Parman had three. Ramey Harrison and Tyler Huebert each had two. AJ Howard finished the scoring with one.
