JONES — Zathan Bowman chalked up 15 points and Ryan Fullbright aided with 12 Friday night, sparking Tecumseh to a 57-50 semifinal triumph over Bethel at the Jones Tournament.

Bowman was true on three 3-point field goals as Tecumseh improved to 10-6.

The Savages will challenge perennial standout John Marshall in today’s 4:40 championship encounter.

Anthony Billy recorded two treys and finished with 9 points for the Savages.

Ben Pfeiff, Jaylon Gordon and Devin Acklin shared Bethel scoring honors with 13.

Pfeiff, a post performer, scored all of his 13 points in the opening half.

“”We did a really good job on their post kid in the second half,” Tecumseh coach Eric Litherland said. ”We tried to limit his rebounds in the second half.

“It was a really good game. Any time you play Bethel, it is a tough battle. We knew it was going to be a dogfight.”

Bethel (8-8) will tangle with Centennial in today’s 2 p.m. third-place game.

Girls

Channing Scallorn and Kilee Jones compiled 12 points apiece, fueling Tecumseh to a 52-17 consolation walloping of John Marshall Friday at the Jones Tournament.

Tecumseh (4-11) was never pressed after leading 25-9 at halftime.

Madison Day and Tawny Billy posted a 3-point field goal apiece. Day and Taylor Walker contributed seven points apiece to the Tecumseh cause.

Tecumseh will wrap up its Jones Tournament play at 10 a.m. today with a consolation game versus Bethel.
