Shawnee resident Barbara J. ‘Bobbie’ Thompson, 90, died Sunday,
January 14, 2018 in Shawnee.

Bobbie was born February 8, 1927 in Snyder, Oklahoma to Thomas J
Beason and Sarah Hammons Beason.

After her family had moved to Tribbey, Oklahoma in the early 1940s, she
came to Shawnee to work and attend school. She graduated Shawnee High
School in 1945.

She married James W Thompson on June 14, 1947 in Shawnee.

She worked much of her life as a homemaker. She worked at Moody’s and
Sears and several other stores downtown. She loved anything she could
imagine with her mind and make with her hands – flower gardening, crafts,
woodworking – and was an amazing seamstress. She taught Sunday school
encouraging young people and had a passion to touch peoples’ hearts
sharing the gospel. She was an active member in church and had attended
Liberty Baptist Church since 1970.

She was preceded in death by her parents, by her 10 brothers and sisters, and by her husband in 2005.

Survivors include her children: her son Phil Thompson; her daughter and son-in-law Susan and Tommy Harmon
her grandchildren; Kelli and Eric VanGilder, Bixby
Brad and Lisa Harmon, Edmond, Ian VanGilder, Jacob VanGilder, Noelle Harmon, Evan Harmon
many wonderful nieces and nephews, special friends and loved ones, and her church family.

Special thanks to Rose Manor Nursing, Avonlea Cottage, Heartland
Hospice and everyone who loved and helped her.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Liberty Baptist Church.

Memorial will be 2 pm Tues Jan 23 @ Liberty Baptist Church.
