After an executive session at Monday's Pottawatomie County Board of County Commissioners meeting, the board approved the purchase of the old MidFirst Bank building located at 330 N. Broadway.

After an executive session at Monday's Pottawatomie County Board of County Commissioners meeting, the board approved the purchase of the old MidFirst Bank building located at 330 N. Broadway.

The commissioners agreed to purchase the building for $325,000.

The plan is to move the county treasurer's office and potentially other offices to the bank building to allow for courthouse expansion.

No move-in date was announced at the meeting. The bank at that location previously closed.

In other commission news:

The Pottawatomie County Assessor and Total Assessment Solutions agreed to a yearly contract. The contact is for up to 3,000 parcels of land at $15 per parcel.

The Public Safety Center agreed to a contract with Harrah to house their municipal inmates. That contract is to be signed this week.

No burn ban was enforced this week.
