Wayman H. Calavan passed from this life on Jan. 15, 2018.

He was born July 20, 1929, to Spencer and Pearl (Newton) Calavan in Omega, Oklahoma, and later moved to Kingfisher, where he graduated High School in1948. During high school, he helped with the family farm and car dealership (Buick & Case) Calavan Implement Co.

He attended Oklahoma A&M and Braun Business School. Wayman served in the U.S. Army from 1952 to1954 where he attained the rank of corporal. He returned to the car business in 1954 and family farm from 1956 to 1983. He sold the farm in 1983 and earned a BS from Southern Nazarene University. He was market director, warehouse and small grains for the Oklahoma Department of Agriculture from 1983 to 1988.

Wayman enjoyed traveling, spending time with family and friends, especially sharing his love for Jesus Christ.

He was proceeded in death by his parents and four brothers.

He is survived by his wife Arlene of Perkins, six children and their spouses, 19 grandchildren and 27 great-grandchildren as well as a multitude of family and friends. He will be missed.

Services Monday, Jan. 22, at Blackburn Chapel Baptist Church, Shawnee, with burial at Kingfisher Cemetery.
